How this is worked out

In Facebook Marketplace’s own words, from its fee page:

A selling fee of 10% (or a $0.80 minimum per order) is charged for items sold with shipping and checkout on Facebook Marketplace.
The fee is calculated based on the total transaction value, which includes the item sale price, shipping fees, and applicable taxes. This fee is deducted from your payout.
Local pickup items do not have a selling fee.
